Gay and lesbian service members got more support for equal benefits from their Commander-in-Chief Tuesday night.
President Barack Obama placed his support adjacent to supporting a move to place women in combat during a progressive government State of the Union address.

The statement comes behind a statement by the Pentagon that same-sex military partners will begin to receive some benefits.
Republicans and other conservatives aren't taking kindly to the movement.
