Basketball Wives Producers to Sue Jennifer Williams?

The producers of VH1's Basketball Wives are considering filing a lawsuit against cast member Jennifer Williams for publicly trashing the reality show.

After Jennifer Williams sued Nia Crooks for slapping her in the face while taping an episode (below), VH1 reportedly became absolutely livid with her.

Now producers are ready rebut Williams' legal and media rampage, during which she said the show portrays African-American women negatively.

Producers feel Williams' lawsuit is frivolous - her contract says she waives such a right to sue based on physical confrontations, the network says.

Moreover, her explicit show-bashing is in violation of her contract, which forbids cast members from doing media appearances or press without approval.

Or speaking negatively about the show, which the nut job clearly has.

VH1 feels J-Dubs is "ruining the brand" they worked so hard to build, which is hilarious, but actually not a legal stretch if she's in breach of contract.

Crooks, for her part, was charged with battery for the slap. Really.

Jimmy Kimmel Reacts to White House Correspondents Dinner Speech, Love for George Clooney

He mocked the size of President Obama's ears, the libido of the Secret Service and, of course, Kim Kardashian.

So how did Jimmy Kimmel feel about his speech at the annual White House Correspondents Dinner Saturday night?

The talk show host told Entertainment Weekly he thought he was "solid," adding: “The President and the First Lady both said they thought it was very funny."

Kimmel also said it was the second "most terrified" he's ever been, following his first appearance with David Letterman and, as you might expect, it's a "very strange room" in which to use material.

“One person told me afterward they were scared to laugh at a joke because they were sitting next to [House Majority Leader] Eric Cantor, who I didn’t even realize was there," Kimmel said. "She didn’t want him to see her laughing at a joke I made about him. Half the people on any given joke have to keep [the laughter] to themselves.”

As for President Obama's speech? It was "very good, very funny," the comedian said, although a certain actor in attendance drew more attention than the Commander-in-Chief.

“George Clooney is far more popular than any person in Washington D.C.,” Jimmy said. “They were pushing people back [from him]. It was starting to get crazy.”

Kevin Jonas and Danielle Jonas Reality Show: Coming to E!

E! is saying farewell to one couple and hello to another.

On the same day sources confirm that Khloe & Lamar will end after season two, Lisa Berger - president of entertainment programming at that network - tells Entertainment Weekly that Kevin Jonas and wife Danielle will be featured on a reality series this summer.

It will be titled Married to Jonas and it will follow around the couple as they adjust to domestic life in the suburbs, while Kevin reunites with his siblings for a new album.

Kevin Jonas and Danielle Jonas

"Danielle is living a true Cinderella story after marrying into pop royalty, partnering in Kevin’s larger-than-life career and becoming a ‘Jonas,’ a name synonymous with hit music and a worldwide fan base,” said Berger. “The series presents a unique look at a young couple and their families from two entirely different worlds, one small town and one dealing with international fame, coming together as one and starting a whole new life together.”

Kevin and Danielle were married in 2009 and the series will debut on August 19 at 10 p.m. Will you tune in for it?

How Much Revenue Does It Take To Be A $1B Public Company?

1billevilWith all the chatter about Billion dollar valuations -- like Instagram, Evernote, Splunk -- combined with recent S1 filings and IPOs, the topic of tech company valuation is coming to the forefront of people?s minds. Specifically related to the software industry, the growing number of SaaS IPO candidates of late is signaling an important shift in the way that enterprise software is built and sold. It also indicates that the subscription business model is here to stay. What does this shift towards a subscription economy means for startups, investors and the IPO landscape? First of all ? get Instagram out of your mind. The price it sold for is not relevant to us mere mortals who are building B2B software businesses. For all good, non-bubble reasons, SaaS companies need tens of millions in revenue, high growth, and solid business fundamentals. What you may notice though, is that revenue may be lower than what we?ve become accustomed to during the last few years of IPO drought.

Interview: John Robb

panama-birdsJohn Robb is an astronautical engineer turned US Air Force Special Operations pilot turned Forrester lead analyst turned startup CTO/COO turned military theorist and author, to oversimplify. His writing has heavily influenced my own (eg you'll find his phrase "open source insurgency" several times in my novel Swarm.) He blogs at Global Guerrillas and edits Resilient Communities. Q: Your writing has focused on three themes: global guerrillas, resilient communities, and, more recently, drone disruption. Could you give the quick nutshell summaries of each of those?
Sure. The general theme of my work is to be at the center of the information flow in the place the world is changing the fastest. I did that four times (tier 1 spec ops, the Internet, Internet Finance, blogging) in the past. I think these topics are where the change is happening fastest now:

TSMC 2012 Q1 results: profits down again as 20-nanometer process proves expensive

Image

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. has offered up its first quarter results for the year, revealing yet another middling quarter. While turnover was NT$105.51 billion ($3.6 billion) and net profit was NT$33.47 billion ($1.1 billion), that's still 7.7 percent down on the NT$36.28 it made in the same quarter last year. On the upside, the chip foundry, which produces silicon for plenty of the world's biggest electronics companies, managed to claw back some of those profit dips from Q4 of last year, suggesting milder climes may lie ahead.

The company is also encouraged by strong demand for its new 28-nanometer chips, which should offset the $8.5 billion spent on developing them, alongside a forthcoming 20-nanometer facility. 28-nanometer hardware still only equates to 5 percent of overall revenue, which should grow as companies use up their older inventory. If you've got a currency convertor to hand, head on past the break for the detailed breakdown.

These Shot Glass Ice Molds Are Your Ice-Is-The-New-Glass Deal of the Day [Dealzmodo]

There's nothing worse than a warm drink. That's why someone thought up the idea of cooling beverages with ice. But even that's not a perfect solution: the ice melts, throwing off the drink's proportions and making it watery. To correct this, some innovators decided to chill the glass that the drink goes into. But that doesn't have the sheer cooling power of ice. The next step? Make the vessel itself out of ice. It still melts, but it's still the coolest way to chill your beverage. Yes, ice is the new glass. Let that sink in, then make it actually happen with these Cool Shooters Shotglass Ice Molds. More »
